T Raum – Formatio Reticularis

Arne Mai and Johan Johanson – who formed the duo T Raum in 2010 – have released on J.Hruza Records before. Make sure to check out their club anthem „In Life (feat. Simple One)“ and the EP „Let Me Glow“ – both released in 2014. Now they’ve been joined by Danny – a german songwriter and producer, settled in Vienna – and grew to a trio for their first LP „Formatio Reticularis“.

The album title „Formatio Recticularis“ is latin for the part of the brain responsible for alertness and attention. And attention is what you need for this masterpiece. The seven songs strong LP is smooth, deep and filled with great house vibes. When it comes to club music which also works in a much quieter surrounding a „journey“ is mentioned often – with this LP record it becomes reality.

Julian & der Fux – Nie Genug (Video)

For the third single from their album „Vanille“ the Viennese duo choose the track „Nie Genug“ – also know as Nimmersatt among their fans. The single comes with an elaborate video where the two leading actors find themselves in an 50’s/60’s apartment. The narrator/interviewer (Julian) visits the artist (Der Fux) at his weird and odd home where is much more to discover then you might expect in the first shot. At the end of the video a great cameo of an old friend takes place but make sure to check that out by yourselves (see video below).

On the new single a huge range of collaborators worked with Julian & Der Fux. For expample Bernhard Hammer (of Elektro Guzzi) plays bass and Martin Schiske (of Johann Sebastian Bass) plays trombone and arranged the wind section. Other collaborators including Florian Fennes (baritone- and tenor saxophone), Ken Hayakawa (percussions), Roman Lugmayr (drums) and Marion Rom (trumpet). Furthermore Sebastian „Zebo“ Adam (producer of Austrian acts Bilderbuch, Steaming Satellites etc.) co-produced and arranged, while Andi Pils engineered the single.

The single-release is accompanied by a „Nimmersat Mix“, a much longer and intense (club) mix of the main track. You can get the release at iTunes or Amazon.

Julian & Der Fux – Vanille (Video)

The Viennese duo just released the second single taken from their debut album „Vanille“. The single is not only accompanied by a great selection of remixes – more on them later – but also with another great video, which was shot in the Austrian alps.

The main characters of the video are not as you might expect Julian & Der Fux but two horses which can also be found on the cover of their debut. Besides the impressive outdoor/landscape shots the theme of the video is kind of a love story but make sure to check that out by yourself.

The remixes coming from Oberst & Buchner, they’re taking on „Alte Spuren (feat. Mimu)“ and T Raum who are taking on „99 Cent“. David Ducaruge aka Acid Washed reinterpreted the eponymous track while Space Echo rearranged the first single off the album, „Mischduft (feat. Hermes). Last but not least a „Club Edit“ of the title track complements the release. Check out the whole release on Soundcloud.
