DE: Mit ihrem Debütrelease „Blood Sugar“ legt das Duo Ant Antic, bestehend aus Marco Kleebauer und Tobias Koett, ihr Innerstes offen. Die Songs bewegen sich konstant zwischen zwei Gefühlspolen, der verträumten Melancholie wird ebenso Platz eingeräumt wie der unbekümmerten Schwerelosigkeit. Leicht wehmütig, aber kontinuierlich hoffnungsvoll und dringlich, bahnen sich die Songs einen Weg zwischen Ambient und Electronic hin zu Contemporary R&B.

Thematischer Leitfaden des drei Tracks umspannenden Werks ist das Loslassen und der daraus resultierende Neuanfang. Viel Wert legen die beiden dabei auf die emotional-aufgeladene Grundstimmung und das einhergehende harmonische Gesamtbild. Der titelgebende Song „Blood Sugar“ ist innig und intensiv, „Histamine“ empathisch und entschieden und das eindringliche „Vacate“ rundet den Release ab.

Remixes steuert zum einen MOTSA bei, der gerade seine „Time“ EP auf dem britischen Kultlabel Southern Fried veröffentlicht hat und gekonnt „Blood Sugar“ dekonstruiert und frisch modelliert. Zum anderen caTekk, zuletzt als eine Hälfte des Soul-Nu-Disco-Duos Space Echo auf Höhenflug, der eine beschwingt-sommerliche Version von „Vacate“ entwirft.

EN: With their debut release „Blood Sugar“ the duo Ant Antic, consisting of Marco Kleebauer and Tobias Koett reveal their innermost. The songs constantly fluctuate between two emotional realms, giving dreamy melancholia and carefree weightlessness equal room. Slightly wistful, but continuously hopeful and urgent, they pave their way between Ambient and Electronic towards contemporary R&B.

The thematic guide for their three track trick is letting go and the resulting fresh start. They put as much importance towards an emotionally charged atmosphere as to the accompanying harmonic. The title song “Blood Sugar” is deeply intensive, “Histamine” emphatic and decisive, and the haunting “Vacate” rounds the release off.

The Remixes are contributed to one part by MOTSA, who just released his “Time” EP with the British cult label Southern Fried, and skillfully deconstructs and remodels „Blood Sugar“. To the other part by caTekk, most recently soaring as one half of the Soul-Nu-Disco-Duo Space Echo, who restyled an elated summer version of “Vacate”.
